Terms of Service

Updated 2026-09-18

These Terms govern the use of the Motored platform — for buyers and sellers. By creating an account, you accept these conditions.

Platform operator

Motored UAB, company code 308040590, registered in Vilnius, Lithuania. Not currently VAT-registered (no VAT is charged on the platform fee or commission). Email help@motored.lt. Under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), we are an online platform that enables consumers to conclude distance contracts.

Motored is an intermediary, not the seller of parts

Motored operates the marketplace but does not sell parts itself. The contract of sale is formed directly between the buyer and the seller, and title to each part passes directly from the seller to the buyer. The platform does not take ownership of, store, inspect or handle seller goods. (Seller Agreement, 1.3, 5.1)

Acceptance

By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept — do not use the service.

Account

You are responsible for protecting your account. Notify us immediately of suspected unauthorised access. One account per person. We reserve the right to terminate accounts for Terms violations.

Seller obligations

You only list parts you own and can lawfully sell. Listing descriptions must be accurate (condition, OEM, compatibility). After your first sale, you verify identity via Stripe Connect Express before payout. If you sell as a business (UAB, individuali veikla), you verify identity immediately.

Listing content and prohibited parts

Every listing must accurately state the part, its condition and its fitment data (OEM number, vehicle compatibility and, where applicable, the donor vehicle VIN), together with actual photographs of the part. Sellers may not list: parts subject to shipping restrictions that they cannot lawfully ship (including pyrotechnic parts such as airbags and seatbelt pretensioners), catalytic converters, counterfeit or stolen parts, or parts they do not hold. The platform may reject, edit or remove any inaccurate, misleading or non-compliant listing, telling the seller why. (4.2, 4.3, 4.4)

Dispatch times

Sellers must prepare the part and hand it to the carrier within 1–3 business days of order confirmation, using the shipping label generated through the platform. If a seller cannot fulfil an order they must say so within 1 business day — the order is cancelled and the buyer refunded in full. (5.2, 5.4)

Buyer obligations

Payment is processed through the platform. Funds are held in escrow until you confirm receipt or the confirmation window expires. When buying, confirm the part fits your vehicle — use VIN lookup and the compatibility table.

Payments and escrow

Payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Funds stay in escrow until delivery is confirmed or 7 days elapse. Disputed payouts are frozen pending resolution. Currency: EUR only. Refunds follow LT Civil Code (see Returns Policy).

Escrow and seller payouts

Buyer funds are held by the payment service provider (Stripe) after payment. Seller earnings are transferred 7 days after delivery is recorded, or earlier if the buyer confirms receipt. Transfer is deferred while an order is subject to an unresolved dispute, refund or chargeback. Under Council Directive (EU) 2021/514 (DAC7), payouts may be suspended — but are not forfeited — until the seller provides tax identification details. (6.5, 2.4)

Seller VAT responsibility

Listings from VAT-registered sellers show prices including Lithuanian VAT at the statutory rate (currently 21%). The seller is solely responsible for correctly calculating, declaring and paying their own VAT, including any margin scheme or cross-border treatment, and for issuing any legally required invoice to the buyer. Motored issues invoices only for its own commission and fees. (6.7)

Self-billing (invoices issued in your name)

By registering as a seller, you authorise Motored to issue the buyer's invoice for your sale in your name and on your behalf (self-billing). This lets Motored produce the buyer-facing invoice for each order automatically. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your tax status and VAT details and for any tax due on your sales. You may withdraw this authorisation by ceasing to sell on the platform.

Fees

Seller commission is 5% of the item price, deducted from seller earnings. The buyer platform fee is 5% of the item price, charged to the buyer in addition to the price and shown at checkout. There are no listing, subscription or software fees and no minimum stock requirement. Shipping is charged to the buyer at the rate shown at checkout. Stripe applies separate payment-processing fees. (6.2, 6.3, 6.4 and Annex 1)

Intellectual property

The Motored trademark and platform code belong to us. Photos and text you upload remain yours, but you grant Motored an unrestricted licence to display them on the platform and in search engines.

Liability

Motored acts as an intermediary. Part quality and listing accuracy are the seller's responsibility. We are responsible for platform operation, escrow protection, and dispute resolution. Our total liability per transaction is limited to the transaction value. LT consumer rights are not diminished.

Termination

You can close your account anytime. We may close an account that breaches these Terms and freeze associated funds during investigation. Existing orders are completed under the original terms.

Seller Agreement

Business sellers are additionally bound by a separate Motored Seller Agreement, signed before their first listing is published. This page summarises its principal terms; where these Terms and a signed Seller Agreement differ, the signed agreement prevails as between that seller and Motored. The agreement is made in Lithuanian and English, and the Lithuanian text prevails in case of discrepancy. Either party may terminate it at any time on 30 calendar days' written notice, with no termination fee. (10.2, 13.6)

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes over these Terms are heard by the Vilnius Regional Court, unless LT consumer rights direct otherwise. Consumers may also contact the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (VTAS).
